ME NARRATIVE

 W.A.L.T write a narrative.

I wrote this narrative this week, its about Dust trying to find her LONG LOST PARENTS! Though she found them in the end....

HERE IT IS, HOPE YOU LIKE IT:

 Mystery Dragon…

 It was a normal day like no other, Dust was wandering in the forest like normal. Until she heard a twig snack loud followed along with a fire crackling loudly and near by. Dust got a sudden stricken face filled with fear. Maybe it was just a hiker, but… no one normally goes to where Dust goes? Or maybe the tails where true that the people in shops that believe in big foot where ACTUALLY true! But that might have been just a dear, but the fire that she´d heard. What the heck was that?! Her curiosity got the better of her and she started walking toward the noise.

The fire was still crackling loudly when she got there. It was a small clearing in the moonlight. She suddenly stood rooted to the spot, when she saw the sight f a DRAGON!

It was still asleep so maybe she could sneeeeeeeaaaak past….EEEEEEKKKKKKKk!!!

It suddenly growled deeeeply as if the dragon was in a deeeep sleep… BUT NO!! It was NOT in a DEEEEEP sleep, It stood up with its mystical glittering rigged back shimmering in the moonlight. It then turned to face her, she stood there exited but bared not to squeal. She absolutely loved dragons! She read every fan fiction book about dragons saying that they were real and other people (of course other than her) that didn't believe the stories. BUT THEY COULDN'T SAY NOTHING NOW!!! ´Hello, there foul creature.´ The dragon said, ´witch realm are you from?´ ´I don't know what your talking about?´ I said back nervously. ´Unusual… My name is Wings, whats yours?´ Wings said, ignoring what she just said.´Dust, umm… not any unusual question buuuuuuutt…...just wondering if I could maybe…...um mm´ ´Spit it out!?´ ´Ummmm….CAN I RIDE YOUR BACK!!?!!!!!????!!!!!??

´Shore… but first lets go to sleep.´ Said Wings excitedly. ´OK...´ Dust said sadly. 

She lied down onto the newly found dragon, and fell into deep slumber…

She awoke to find that Wings 1 there….

THEN SHE FOUND HER LONG LOST PARENTS STANDING THERE SHOCKED TO SEE HER LIKE THAT!!!

Stand Burnout

Introduction: 

Did you know that the there was such thing as the passenger pigeon?

It is one of the known extinct animals in north America, they where ate by huge amounts by humans all over the planet. But they were also killed because they where a threat to agriculture.

Whats the problem: 

Overhunting is a huge affect in the environment because of the climate change effect it can do to the world. It can deplete 5.8 percent of the Amazon rainforest.

They ate acorns and where an ecosystem engineer of North American forests for tens to thousands of years. Their large and dense flocks create forest disturbances and put regeneration cycles into motion.

I had this question in my head and I tried to figure it out. The very first thing I did to solve this question was to count how many cars there where in the image than I thought about the cars that where split into two, so I put them into half quarters then finished it of by writing it in my maths book.

West African Drummers at our school! (EXITING!)

 W.A.L.T Reflect on our experiences.

On Tuesday the 26th of October, the WHOLE school went into the hall to see some African drumming. It was all SUPER DUPER cool, they first did a show of their drumming skills. They where atchally really good at doing their instruments, I forgot the names of them all but maybe you could guess? They even chose some of the school to use some of the African Drums they all brung  so that we could use some of them and do a competition on who could do drumming the fastest. I dident get to go up but is was still super fun to dance and to sing along. I thought that it was great how they let some of us use their drums! Also how they dont just preform at schools they also preform at loads of others!

Waste reflection

 W.A.L.T Reflect on our Waste.

On Friday the 21st of October, we did a class field trip to the Dump. We learned how glass was turned into roads as one of the ingredients and we ALL held a worm EACH then we did a circle of doing: placing worms into the dump then departing the soil and nutrition to the corner of the tub we all used. The next rotation was just as interesting too, we all watered the plants around the area and fed them with soil and grass. Then the last one was tearing and wetting news paper, then putting it in the compost for the worms to also eat.

My lockdown area is kinda annoying, I think that Covid 19 is the worst hing ever!>:( 

Its like no animals on earth but the worm, thats how it is like for me especially the no going to Zoos, pet stores, some cafes. thats he most onnoyingest part about it all! (except for  the dying people).

It is as bad as war, but my families kinda handling it well. Like how where only going shopping at special occasions with our face masks on, I mean my face masks are coming but are just taking a while to come.

But other then those things it is good that it is less at school and more home schooling:)

How did the giraffe get there?

 W.A.L.T use adjectives. (I'm naming the giraffe Harold)

Harold was stretching his long snake like neck to eat the tall leaves dangling about. Then he heared a crowd getting nearer and nearer, shouting and crying to get a good inspection on him. Harold dangled his food out of his mouth terrified. He hated large crowds swarming around the large open cage. Harold ran away scared of the crowd spitting dirt everywhere from his hooves, he ended up on a tree with his hands on clinging on the stubs on the side.

Thats how I think he got up there in the first place, from this picture:)

Write from our own experiences

When I went to the Gondola I suddenly felt a rush excitement! It felt good to back again. We went up to the top of the Gondola and the cafe and played hide and seek together, and then when we were driving back from the Gondola we all went to the playground and for like an hour.

So we played like for '2' or '3' hours at least, it is a fun experience and I recommend you going to the Gondola, cause it is a great family trip all together:) These are my brothers:\

I have been practicing all of my times tables including the, 2s, 1s, 3s, 11s, 10s, 4s, 5s, 6s, 7s. Its really not that complicated when you get the hang of it, and the tactic wise.( so keep on trying)

Comparing environments

The difference is that Antarctica has a different toilet environment than my theory with Quinees bush. That has a way more cleaner toilet environment.

Happiness!

Today was happy and exited! I sent my friends a email to play minecraft with them, and level three lockdown so we can go to cafes and McDonald's! 

I was getting more and more exited every second of the day! Checking my emails to see if my friends had text back, (taking a while) and just thinking of McDonald's is mouth watering exiting!

Roasting marshmallows!

 I love roasting marshmallows at night it just gives you that vibe that I love:)I made mine super big and looked at it closely and hurt my eyes.

Blowing bubble gum with my Mum:)

 I like blowing and chewing bubble gum, its got a nice flavor to all of them. The brand that I had and still do have is hubba bubba, me and my Mum like it and think it is one of the best chews.

Tuesday the 17th of August 2021 Emma Twigg came to my school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got to hold and touch the GOLD MEDAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (It was super heavy but easy to lift, if you know what I mean).

My favorite part was when she said ¨never give up¨ like the song.(p.s is that your fravourate song or not).

Also Sophie my friend got to be in a photo with Emma Twigg herself!

Emma Twigg Article

I worked on a Emma Twigg Article this week because of her win for the partly golden medal.

Did you know that NZ has won 132 medals and GB has won 900 in total history? No wonder GB is good at football, they probably made 847 medals in football olympics.

I liked this book because I liked the pattern that it had poor, rich, poor. The book ended how it should have done because it ended how the main characte

r wanted it to. Also it should be a lesson to Zeb my annoying brother who should learn from this book to love family instead of hating them >.<

Refugee experience

W.A.L.T Write a brief recount 

On Monday 10th of May we went to the Red zone and played out as a Refugee. We were all separated into our house colours, and I was in red house which really matched for the name of the place we were at. There were four zones to go to,the first zone my house colour went to was were we ate a pot full of hot boiling rice. The angry part about this was that it tasted bad, and they said it wouldnt be boiling hot BUT IT WAS!! Any way... The next station had three tarps laid onto the ground and we had make forts out of them to experience the refugee life. We separated into groups and hooked the holes of the tarp on to the branches that we could reach. They kept on falling and snapping off the branches that we had put them on.

So in the end I was going to live in a tree that had loads of holding spots.

  The next zone we went to was were we got into pairs and put on a blindfold and dodge the bean bags that the teacher threw at our feet, we made it to the end.

Arthur's pass camp recount

 My favourite thing at Arthur's pass was the food there, one thing they gave us was home made pizza. Even the dough was home made. We goed on heaps of walks, one of them was the devils punch bowl.we goed on a nature walk as well, it had loads of stairs, and trees all around the walking path with moss and liyken all over them, as if they were vines warping around the tree trunk. The floor was made out of scattered rocks all over the ground, they were shark teeth stabbing out of the ground.

Problem: My son wants to know how a trumpet works

Help!

My son has come back from school and has all these questions about musical instruments. I know how most of them work but I have no idea how a trumpet works.

I have a couple of questions.

What is the wide bit at the end of the trumpet for? Why is it shaped like that.

Also why does it have that weird folded shape?

Do you have any information about how the trumpets were used in war? What is the purpose of them?

Please help, I really don’t want to seem dumb in front of my son.

Mine

Kia ora Kevin! I can see you are struggling to tell your child what a trumpet is. 

First of all, the wide bit at the end acts like a speaker so it projects out and makes it louder like a trumpet should do. Thats why its shaped like that.

Why it has that weird curvy shape is because it makes the sound more louder and so you can make different sounds with it.

The trumpets were used in the war because the trumpeters were used to warn the battlers when to attack when the commander said to.

There are a lot of purposes for trumpets.Such as, they were used in the war,also the Orchestras for noise making like elephants.

My school report writing

  In Room two we have been researching and learning  about New Brighton Catholic School (NBC).We looked at time capsules, interviewed Ms Daines ( the principal), and went around the school to take notes. I enjoyed this because we found out a lot about our school.

What would you say in a report for your school?

There are 203 children at New Brighton Catholic School (NBC). NBC is near the beach. NBC is one of a hundred Catholic schools in Canterbury. The uniform is really smart, the girls have white shirts and a dress or calotts. The boys have all grey, grey shorts and top.

History: From recently discovered time capsules we know that the old principal was called Mr.Bradley and one of the old teachers was Mrs Branson. There used to be only two teachers and 64 students! The fort was still there in 1994! Euphraise Barbier and the lady of our missions founded NBC. The domain was always owned by the council.

                                                                                             

Our school cat Archie is the school cat that comes in everyone's rooms when he wants to. He wasn't aloud when he was a kitten,but when he got his collar he  was aloud.

Supplies: NBC has sandwiches handed out to students by students.Every kid in the school gets one or two! Last years NBC had milk but some people  didn't have milk because they didn't like the milk or weren't aloud the milk.NBC has spare clothes as well! NBC is also a duffy school, every year NBC gets one or two books and some in assembly for caught being good.

Everyone will think that NBC is the best school ever. Because it has learning supplies that are perfect and can sometimes support your options for things, like new schools.
